On March 30, 2020 the Hunter G litter of Otterhounds turned four weeks old. They have progressed to running around the whelping box. That doesn’t mean they don’t have a bunch of spills. Especially when they encounter each other.
They have begun to play with each other which generally winds up in a tumbling mass of puppy. They are starting to show an interest in toys. So far they have checked out toilet paper tubes and sock monsters.
The four week old Otterhounds are now having three meals of solid food a day. They went from eating out of one pan to needing two pans. They are continuing to gain weight at about a tenth of a pound a day. Mom Dawn is leaving them on their own more and more.
She has also become more tolerant of Grandmother Cheyenne checking on the pups. Part of the reason Dawn is more tolerant could be that they are beginning to get their first teeth. They had their first trip outside and didn’t know what to make of the grass.
