Things have been hectic here at Hunter Otterhounds. We planned to breed Hunter’s Dame Clara when she came in heat in March. However Otterhounds aren’t known for following plans, and the weather has been crazy. However March 30th Clara went in for an ultrasound, and the vet confirmed sometime around the first week of May we hope to welcome the next generation of Hunter Otterhounds.
A group of Hunter Otterhounds went to the Lone Star Classic Dog Show the fifth and sixth of December. While the Hunter hounds made up the majority there was another entry – Ch Magicwood Kalevala Gettysburg Memory aka. Getty.
Harvey is now the 2nd Champion Otterhound in the C litter. While Chili got his results back last month and learned he is the 2nd Otterhound with OFA Excellent hips.
We went to the Tyler Kennel Club show this weekend. Though we only entered three each day we took six for Meet the Breed on Saturday. Everyone enjoys Meet the Breed. They like laying around waiting for someone to stop by. When someone does stop they all want to meet them.
In May we went to the Denton Kennel Club show. It was a good distraction while waiting to find out if Abilene is pregnant. Barclay won Best of Breed on Saturday and Bonney won Best of Opposite. Then on Sunday Bonney won Best of Breed and Barclay Best of Opposite. Quick got Select Bitch both days.
