The pups turned seven weeks on February the first. Now is the time we begin looking for that perfect home for each of the pups. They have grown so much and are beginning to develop personalities. All too soon they will be ready to go to their new homes.
We had a nice warm spell and they got to go outside in the puppy pen (a 30 by 40 foot area) for the first time. They had a ball running around and exploring. They found it easier to go under the big dog house rather than in it. They also found it nicer to go out to potty so have begun to announce that they have to go. After time in the yard the back porch seems confining and they want to go out even when it is too cold.
A lot has happened since then. The puppies have all gone off to their new homes. Some of the puppies had a chance to go to the pond and like good otterhounds they took to the water like ducks. They got to run around more with the big dogs and were learning not to bother the older dogs.
The pups are eight weeks old now. They were allowed out in the main yard for the first time. They had a ball and managed to cover most of the 3/4 acre at a dead run. They got their first swimming this weekend. They also had their first experience on a leash walking and coming. They are getting better about not wetting their bed but accidents still happen. When one has to go they all do and we can’t get all nine out before someone has a mishap.
The pups are seven weeks old and spending most of their time out side. They had their first experience with collars over the weekend. They also got their first cookies. That was a real treat. They have just discovered that they can bark and take great pleasure in it.
The pups are six weeks old and had their first shots on the 18th. On Saturday they went into the puppy pen for the first time. The pen is 30 feet by 40 feet. They had a blast running all over the place exploring everything. They prefer staying out in the puppy pen and even stayed under the dog house when it rained.
